Looking for a meal prep bowl that’s packed with bold flavor, satisfying protein, and plenty of veggies? These hot Blackened Cajun Chicken Caesar Bowls are exactly what you need. Juicy air-fried chicken seasoned with Cajun spices sits atop a base of fluffy rice and tender sautéed cabbage, delivering a meal that’s hearty, flavorful, and perfect for reheating throughout the week. Whether you’re meal prepping for lunch or dinner, these bowls bring all the comfort of a Caesar salad with a spicy, protein-packed twist.

The Secret to Perfectly Seasoned Cajun Chicken for Meal Prep

For juicy, flavorful chicken, always start by patting your chicken breasts dry before cooking. Removing excess moisture allows the seasoning to stick better and helps the chicken develop a lightly crisp exterior in the air fryer. Drizzle a small amount of extra virgin olive oil (EVOO) over the chicken, then season generously with your favorite Cajun blend, like Dak’s Cajun Voo Doo, for bold, smoky flavor. Air-frying the chicken locks in moisture while evenly cooking it, making it ideal for meal prep that reheats well all week.

Why Shredded Cabbage Is the Perfect Base for Meal Prep Bowls

Shredded cabbage is a smart choice for hot meal prep bowls because it holds up beautifully when reheated, unlike traditional lettuce. Lightly pan-frying the cabbage softens it just enough while maintaining texture, making it the perfect filler alongside rice and protein. Cabbage is also rich in fiber, vitamin C, and antioxidants, helping add volume and nutrition without a lot of extra calories. Using cabbage in your meal prep bowls keeps them hearty, balanced, and satisfying while supporting overall health.
